What do you know about the whole process of making glasses?

Hello, dear friends, I am your glasses textbook – IVision.  Today, I would like to talk with you about the production process of glasses.

Today’s glasses are of various brands and materials, and how beautiful they are. IVision will take you to understand the unknown process behind the production of glasses?

It takes ten steps to complete from small parts to exquisite glasses with the soul of the IVision brand, namely: inspection before processing – grinding lens – chamfering – polishing – slotting – drilling – assembling – initial adjustment – self-inspection –  Submit for inspection.

 1. Inspection before processing

The first step in production is to prepare sufficient raw materials for glasses and inspect various production instruments.  According to the data card, the processing sequence is sorted according to the pickup time.

Secondly, after checking the lenses and frames, the key work is to fix the optical center, the axial direction, and then to scan and make templates, and customize the prototype of the glasses according to the needs of customers.

The interpupillary distance is determined mainly according to the needs. The interpupillary distance of each glasses is 100% accurate and meets the national requirements.

Finally, the suction cup step is completed, and the first step has been successfully completed.

 2. Grinding lens

IVision has thousands of glasses grinding tools, plus advanced grinding technology, combined with imported advanced instruments, has ultra-high lens grinding technology, and is at the leading level in the industry.

3. Chamfer

Chamfering refers to the processing of cutting the edges and corners of the glasses workpiece into a certain bevel.  Chamfering is to remove the burrs on the parts due to machining, and also to facilitate the assembly of glasses parts, so chamfers are generally made at the ends of the parts.  The chamfering technology has been perfectly mastered by Opel to achieve a level of precision.

 4. Polishing

How it works: Edge polishing is required when processing rimless or half-rim glasses.  After the optical lens is finely ground by the abrasive, there will be a thick layer of cracks on the surface, and these cracks will be eliminated by polishing.  Optical lenses can be polished with asphalt. The fine surface of the asphalt drives the polishing liquid to grind the surface of the lens to generate heat, so that the glass melts and flows, melts away the rough vertices and fills the bottom of the crack, and gradually removes the crack layer.  The advanced and perfect polishing process makes glasses beautiful and flawless, and the texture is extraordinary.

5. Slotting

When processing half-frame glasses, technicians use a slotting machine to slot, and half-frame glasses have a higher risk of collapse. At the same time, IVision technicians also have super high mirror-making technology to ensure that the slotting is foolproof.

6. Drilling

Before processing, check the quality of the drill bit itself, and check the concentricity and stability of the drill bit and the drilling machine to ensure the drilling quality and personal safety.  Drilling is mainly divided into: 1. Punching the lateral hole of the nose 2. Assembling the bridge of the nose 3. Punching the temporal hole.

 7. Assembly

The core process of the experience has been basically completed, reaching the assembly step, that is, the perfect combination of the lens and the frame.  The assembly requires meticulous care to ensure that the angles, edges, etc. of each lens are in a highly fitted state.

8. Initial adjustment

After the assembly is completed, the initial adjustment is carried out to adjust the flat opening angle of the left and right lenses and the left and right eye legs to achieve 100% accuracy and ensure the comfort of consumers.

9. Self-check

IVision’s self-inspection process is very strict and carefully checked. Each process has professional staff to complete the confirmation, and the worker’s signature or seal is added after completion.  And record the whole process of self-inspection, if it is found that it does not meet any standard, it will be returned to redo.

10. Submit for inspection

After completing the self-inspection, send it to a third-party authority for inspection, including whether it meets quality standards, industry standards, and national requirements.

IVision glasses need to go through ten steps of meticulous work from the prototype to the complete, each step reflects the unique quality pursuit of IVision for products.
